I recently had the honor of participating in an exceptional tango event in Buenos Aires alongside the incomparable Lorena Ermocida, an artist internationally recognized for her distinctive style, precision, and profound musicality.
During the evening, we shared an improvised performance at Porteño y Bailarín, one of Buenos Aires’ most emblematic milongas, impeccably organized by Carlos Staci. It was a memorable experience that reflected the true essence and elegance of Argentine tango.
I recently had the privilege of hosting an unforgettable tango event in the Chicago suburbs, featuring the incomparable Virginia Pandolfi. Renowned worldwide for her unique style and artistry, Virginia brought her extraordinary talent and passion to the dance floor, creating a truly magical experience for all who attended.
One of the most celebrated artistic events I host in Chicago features the extraordinary Lorena Ermocida, a world-renowned icon in the tango community. Her unparalleled grace and mastery make every moment on the dance floor an unforgettable experience.

Born and raised in La Boca, Buenos Aires, Eduardo Villalba is an Argentine tango teacher, professional dancer, and educator based in Chicago, Illinois. With more than 20 years of teaching experience, Eduardo has dedicated his career to sharing the art, technique, music, and cultural traditions of Argentine tango.
Growing up in Buenos Aires, Eduardo developed a deep connection to tango and its cultural roots. After dancing and teaching in Argentina, he moved to the United States in 2008 and established Villalba Tango in Chicago, where he continues to teach students of all levels, from absolute beginners to experienced social dancers.
Eduardo's approach to tango goes beyond learning steps and memorizing sequences. His teaching focuses on developing a strong foundation through walking, posture, balance, body awareness, biomechanics, musicality, and connection with a partner.
Each lesson is designed to help students understand how movement is created, how the body communicates, and how to develop confidence and freedom in the dance. By progressing from simple principles to more complex movements, Eduardo helps dancers build skills they can apply naturally on the social dance floor.
His approach brings together technical precision, physical awareness, musical interpretation, emotional expression, and an appreciation for tango's cultural and social traditions.
Through Villalba Tango, Eduardo offers private lessons, group classes, workshops, online instruction, and social dance events throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. His work includes teaching tango, vals, and milonga, with an emphasis on musicality, improvisation, partner connection, and the skills needed for social dancing.
Eduardo has collaborated with and hosted established artists from the Argentine and international tango communities, including Marcela Duran, Lorena Ermocida, Fernanda Ghi, Virginia Pandolfi, Moira Castellano, Milena Plebs and Juan Carlos Stasi, among others, through workshops, special events, and online classes.
He is also committed to creating welcoming opportunities for people to learn, practice, and connect through tango. Through regular classes, prácticas, milongas, and guest-teacher events, he contributes to the development of Chicago's Argentine tango community.
For Eduardo, Argentine tango is much more than a dance. It is a form of communication shaped by music, movement, history, and human connection. His goal as a teacher is to help students develop not only their technical abilities, but also a deeper understanding of the music, the embrace, the improvisational nature of tango, and the culture from which it emerged.
Whether someone is taking their first tango lesson or refining years of experience, Eduardo's focus remains on helping each dancer develop greater awareness, confidence, musicality, and personal expression.

I’m very happy to have Virginia Pandolfi as my guest teacher for this special edition of my online tango class.
Virginia is an accomplished Argentine tango dancer and teacher, and I’m very excited to have the opportunity to share her work and experience with our online community.

I have been teaching these online classes for several years, and I’m grateful that they have allowed me to connect with dancers not only from Chicago, but from different parts of the U.S. and around the world.
